<p>As soon as you think you shouldn&apos;t do something you feel an inexorable pull towards the very thing that you are trying to avoid.  It is an inevitable fact of life due to the way in which your mind works.</p> <p>Thus, whenever you either want to lose weight or avoid certain food types for varying reasons you most often find that your mind becomes fixated with those foods.  It often seems that the end result is that you crave and eat those foods more than before and an opposite effect happens than that which you set out to achieve.</p> <p>This, needless to say, can be an incredibly frustrating experience.  The harder you try to not do whatever it is the more you want to do it and a tough battle ensues. </p> <p>The person involved in this tussle ends up coming to one of two conclusions.  Either they decide that they have no will power at all and simply cannot stop thinking about food or eating those food types, or they take a step back and decide that their must be a diff...

<p>I am not unusual in that I find it can be difficult to get motivated to exercise.  I&apos;m not a gym bunny, I&apos;m not a jogger and do not pretend to be particularly athletic or sporty. </p> <p>Over the years I have found that attempts to get into a gym routine have never lasted for a particularly prolonged period of time.  I have to confess to a lack of motivation and enthusiasm when it comes to visiting the gym.  And as for jogging, my attempts at that are not even worth mentioning.</p> <p>This does not mean that I haven&apos;t found a way to get motivated to exercise.  I probably get more exercise than the average person and I am totally motivated to do this because I exercise in a way that I do not think of as compulsory exercise.  I do a lot of walking, totally by accident, as my passion is golf.</p> <p>I love golf.  I play five times a week, weather and circumstances permitting.  Therefore I walk for four hours a day, five times a week.  I am totally motivated and ...

<p>Chocolate has such a decadent taste and feel upon your tongue it can be really hard to resist.  Sometimes the fight to desist becomes too much and your taste buds win over your logical thought processes.  The sweet blissful chocolate taste remains with you for a little while and then, seemingly in a blink of your eye, it&apos;s gone.  Then you are left kicking yourself for having given in to your chocolate cravings.</p> <p>As I am writing this in the early hours of the day I have beside me my mug of coffee and tub of morning cookies.  These cookies are seriously special ones, as my friends will attest.  I make them myself and they are full of goodies of all descriptions &#8211; oatmeal, dried cranberries, chopped nuts and yes, 60% cocoa chocolate chips.  There is a generous sprinkling of those delicious chocolate drops in each and every one of these cookies.</p> <p>My husband and I breakfast on several of these cookies each and every day.  We both like to have this sweet tast...
